A New England congresswoman wants to lower the voting age from 18 to 16, because younger people should have more of a voice in electing our future leaders. According to WMTW, U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley made the proposal as her first amendment since winning election last year. According to Wikipedia, it would be the first change in the federal voting law since 1971, when the 26th Amendment was passed, preventing states from setting a voting age higher than 18. Do you think this has a chance to pass? Do you think 16 and 17 year olds should be allowed to vote, or do you think that things are fine the way they are? You can "vote," with a comment on our Facebook post.
