Secret Portland: The Victoria Mansion Tower [VIDEO/PHOTOS]

Portland, Maine has some great secret places that few people know about.  One of those is the tower of Victoria Mansion.  I was able to take a camera to give you an idea of what it looks like from the top. As a volunteer at Victoria Mansion, I've had the chance to see the spectacular view. Victoria Mansion is open to the public May through October and then again during the Christmas holiday season. The 1st & 2nd floor are open to tours, but the tower is only open to the public during the rare basement to tower tours. The staff kindly gave me permission to take photos and show off the rare and scenic site. I first had the chance to visit the tower during my training in the Portland History Docent Program.  If you would like the chance to become a Portland History Docent, training begins March 5, 2015.
