Scarborough Police Department Put Out This Reminder After An Officer’s Vehicle Was Hit During A Traffic Stop
Saturday night Scarborough Police Officer Andrew Flynn's cruiser was hit while on a traffic stop on Route 1. The driver caused a 3 car collision and was fined $311. Thankfully no one was hurt. This incident could have been much worse.
In 2001 Maine passed the Move Over Law which says drivers must slow down and/or pull over for a stopped emergency vehicle. Motor vehicle crashes are the number one killer of Police Officers.
