Tiny Lives, Big Rescue: Ducklings Saved from Blaze in Maine
Sometimes life reminds you that there is humanity left in the best of us. It was a very busy and chaotic morning in Sabattus, Maine recently, but thanks to quick action and a lot of heart, this story has a happy ending.
Fire crews from Lisbon Fire Department posted on their Facebook page recently what they had to rescue when a fire spread quickly at a local barn.
According to WMTW, they had discovered eight innocent little ducklings in danger and didn’t hesitate to act.
Several departments showed up at the scene and they were able to safely rescue each and every one of these little guys from the fire.
Tiny, vulnerable animals, completely dependent on help and they were all carried out of harm’s way, because of these great firefighters. All while juggling a pretty intense fire situation.
Luckily, someone that was on the property was able to spot the fire quickly enough to give the fire fighters a critical head start to putting it out, according to the report.
And that quick thinking helped to stop the fire from destroying the entire barn and nearby buildings.
The fire was under control by around 6:30 am., with the crews staying for cleanup before clearing a little after 8:00pm, as per the report.
