Rye, NH, Police Fine Driver $310 for ‘Glacier on Top’ of Car
This is so dangerous.
Rye Police gave this driver a $310 fine.
NH passed Jessica's Law 13 years ago, according to a story from WMUR. The law came about from an accident that happened 16 years ago when a 9 foot piece of ice flew off a tractor trailer and made it's way to Jessica's car, resulting in her death. Jessica's Mom said that if the driver had cleaned off his truck, Jessica would be alive today.
I know it can be a pain to clean off the roof of the car, but think about if, heaven forbid, snow and ice on top of your car hit another car and it resulted in someone's death. How would you feel about that? I don't know about you, but the guilt would be more than I could bear.
Your local hardware store has really long brushes to clean off the top of your car without much effort.
