I don't always watch videos on YouTube. But, when I do, there is a very good chance that I'm watching videos of goats at a magical place that's a short trip from our home in Westbrook. When they are open again for the season in late May, I'll be sure to bring the family to go visit in person. In the meantime seeing the adorable videos that are put up, works wonders on my soul. So I'll warn you. If you're an animal lover, this could become an obsession for you too.

Meet Virginia. She is the very helpful barn cat who's keeping an attentive eye on all the moms-to-be at Sunflower Farm in Cumberland. You gotta love her instinctive urge to check on each goat in the barnyard.

It appears that Virginia is fully aware that there are precious babies in those big mama bellies. Her intuition is a valuable asset for my friend and owner of Sunflower Farm, Hope Lipp Hall.

She writes this fascinating truth about Virginia the barn cat's innate knowledge of who'll be giving birth sooner, in the video description on their YouTube channel.

"As due dates get closer, she helps give us an idea of who might kid next by staying very close to the expectant mama!"

I keep trying to get my wife Sherry to say yes to goats roaming in our yard.  But if I even start to say goat, she is very quick to say no as soon as I start to make a 'guh' sound. I don't even make it to the 'oat' sound.

It's not that she doesn't love goats too. I think it has everything to do with the fact that we have terriers, two Westies and a Yorkie. They sure do love to chase squirrels up a tree. I bout 'magine they'd struggle with leaving the goats alone. So Gu...No goats for you.

Hope at Sunflower Farm has done a fantastic job of regularly capturing much of the barnyard goat joy over the past 6 years. She has kindly shared it with all of us regularly, on YouTube and Facebook.

We are wicked glad to see more and more new videos again and we absolutely cannot wait to see the kids real soon.
