Maine has already been slammed by two powerful winter storms and well, it's not even winter yet. The first storm brought plenty of snow but also brought big wind gusts that left more than 150,000 people across the state without power, in some cases for days. The second storm ended up being a surprise snowmaker, dropping massive totals across southern Maine to the dismay of every person with a shovel. So the third storm has got to be the charm, right?

Shared on Twitter by Keith Carson, there's something brewing for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and right now, it's not what anyone wants to hear. Rather than having a snowy Christmas perfect for those idyllic Instagram shots, Maine could potentially see a very windy Christmas, leaving your phone and the lights off during the cheeriest day of the year.

The storm is still developing and the track is anything but certain, a lesson we all just learned quite harshly. But of all the local meteorologists, Carson rarely shares anything on social media that he doesn't think has a pretty good chance of happening, and he's not alone.

Shared on Twitter by Mike Haggett, you can see the storm's proposed track more vividly as it approaches Maine. It'll have some precipitation with it obviously, but it's too early to tell if that precipitation will be snow or rain. The one thing that does seem certain at this point is that significant wind gusts will be a part of this storm.

So if you've been dreaming of a powerless Christmas, you might get your wish. You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
