It was a thrilling night in Portland this past Friday night, when thousands of zombies filled Monument Square downtown! The energy was palpable whilst tons of the undead came to entertain. 

Why? It’s there annual Thriller Throwdown, a legendary Halloween event that brings incredible dancers to celebrate the creepy holiday in a big way, all Michael Jackson Style.

The event is organized by Kristin Goodwin Sutton and this year was bigger and better then ever.  

Thriller Throwdown Brings the Undead to Life in Portland, Maine

At 5:30pm a massive mob of ghosts, ghouls, and the undead all gathered to recreate that iconic music video, Thriller.

They rehearsed the dance moves choreographed by Michael Peters for a month before the event.

From the sharp zombie shuffles to the undead arm swinging, the show was an amazing success for all.  

Anyone 12 and up could join in on the creepy fun! This year’s turnout surpassed all of their expectations with the square completely filled.

Portland has proven again and again that is knows how to bring folks together to celebrate tradition and keep it alive, even though most were dead.
