The Portland, Maine Police Department shared some valuable tips from the CDC (See below) on their Facebook page about dealing with stress during these crazy times. Many of us are struggling with added pressure, worries, and anxiety, as we try to cope with the "new normal." These emotions are affecting every aspect of our lives from the moment we wake up -- and still feel exhausted because we didn't sleep well -- to our daily behavior and interactions with others to not being motivated at work.

As a former mental health counselor, I can attest to the importance of sharing your concerns with people you trust, and talking about what is going on in your life. This is one of the tips offered by the CDC, as well. Whether it be a friend, relative or pastor, connect with someone. If possible, speak with a professional to get more objective advice.

You will notice a number to a crisis support line in the Facebook post below. It is (800) 537-6066.
