Portland, Maine Is Laughing At The Other Portland For A Very Good Reason
I did not realize there was any place left in the U.S. where people did not pump their own gas. As it turns out, the state of Oregon forbid its residents from doing so, until recently, according to WMTW. New Jersey is the only other state that does not allow people to fill up their own tanks.
House Bill 2482 was signed into law last year by Oregon Governor Kate Brown. The law allows motorists to pump their own gas in nearly half of Oregon’s 36 counties, according to writer Alix Martichoux of SFGATE.
Well, many Oregonians aren't having it, and they've taken to social media to protest. Some even claim they "don't know how."
Meanwhile, we (the rest of the U.S.) are having a field day with the silly notion that people are upset about having to put fuel in their own tanks.
