Our state proves to us all that once again, we are filled with animal lovers.
Get this according to Compare the Market, in 2024 rescue centers and pet shelters across the entire state reported more than 24,800 adoptions of cats and dogs!
That is so many fluffy and furry family members that were welcomed into new homes. And that means that is a whole lot of new names being yelled out at dog parks.
We’re always curious to see which pet names are currently the most popular and according to new research, I’ve got the list!
According to Compare the Market, the names that are chosen on top are surprising for sure. Bear being the top dog name and Kitty is in the lead for cats. Both of these names are part of a growing trend of short, cute names.
But, what name is globally the breakout star? Luna.

Ranking at number one for dogs in 14 different countries, Luna is out of this world.
