This Firefighter’s Can’t-Stop-Won’t-Stop Attitude Extends Beyond the Job
Chris McLaughlin is the Topsham fire chief, father of three children, and an active community member.
He's been saving people and their homes and businesses for a long time. He became a firefighter when he was just 18 as a volunteer for the West Gardiner Fire Department. Just a year later he got his license to be an EMT and a few years after that, his license to be a paramedic. At one point in his career, he was a volunteer fire chief for West Gardiner and working full time as a firefighter in Augusta.
We honored Chris as our June 2019 Hometown Hero, a special program we're running with Partners Bank to honor the veterans, police, firefighters and paramedics who keep our communities safe. Amber, who nominated him, said that Chris has a can't-stop-won't-stop attitude and gives back and helps his local communities.
We know there are several other police officers, firefighters, EMTs and veterans who go above and beyond to serve their communities — and we need your help to nominate them as part of our Hometown Hero program with Partners Bank.
Each month, we will select and highlight one veteran or first responder from Maine, Massachusetts, or New Hampshire to recognize them as our Hometown Hero of the Month. Submissions will be accepted through October 31, 2019. If they are selected, the Hometown Hero of the Month will also win a $100 gift card to Amazon and a $50 gift card to Aroma Joe's.
