Oxford Casino Suspends Operations Amid Coronavirus Concerns
As the list of Northern New England businesses who are closing continues to grow, the latest is a big one.
Oxford Casino, located about 50 minutes north of Portland in the town of Oxford, announced this afternoon that they are voluntarily suspending operations as of today, due to public health concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
The safety and health of our guests, team members, and the protection of our entire community remains our primary concern at Oxford Casino Hotel. With a heightened awareness of the ongoing developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are monitoring the situation with steadfast vigilance thanks to resources provided by the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control as well as public health officials and experts.
The casino stated that there have not been any reported cases of COVID-19 on site.
They added that they will be closed for business "until further notice."
