NH Mother Amazingly Gives Birth to Son at Home in Her Bathtub
Well, this is one way to make an impact on your entrance into the world.
Generally, when you think of giving birth, it's some kind of planned scenario. You're either at the hospital with your doctor, possibly asking for all the epidural so you don't feel a thing and bring your baby into the world; or maybe you're at home with a doula. Regardless, you have some kind of plan in place.
The only plan that was in place last weekend for the Therrian family, according to WMUR, was that Sharon Therrian's mom, Janis, was going to come on over and watch Sharon and her husband, Jordan's first child. Who doesn't love quality time with grandma? But grandma got A LOT more quality time than she planned on.
Sharon told WMUR that when she got out of bed that morning, she could tell it was go-time and that baby Jacob was ready to make his entrance into the world. But, little impatient bugger he was, didn't even give his mom a chance to get to the hospital. Instead, Sharon ended up in her bathtub with her mom and husband by her side.
It was over almost as quick as it started, and before the Therrian's knew it, baby Jacob had arrived -- CAUGHT IN A TOWEL BY HIS GRANDMOTHER.
You read that right, by the way, Grandma Janis showed off skills that would make the Boston Red Sox offer her a contract, and caught her newborn grandson in a towel. All while Jordan was on the phone with 911, scrambling around to find a shoelace to tie off and cut the umbilical cord.
The birth went off without a hitch and everyone is safe, sound, and happy. Congratulations to the Therrian family, and welcome to the world in a big way, Jacob!
