New Year’s Resolution 2017: Stop Phubbing Around!
Maybe you’ve been looking for a term for this particular type of social dissing. When the person that you are with ignores you and gives their full attention to their phone, it is called “phubbing.” That’s a combination of phone and snubbing. The term phubbing is well on its way to knocking off “you go, girl!” from the top of the pop culture lexicon pile. This rude habit has gotten so terrible that a study was done at Baylor University in Texas, where they discovered that it’s for real hurting relationships! People who are “phubbed” have lower levels of relationship satisfaction and higher levels of depression. 46% of people say that they are in a relationship with a phubber and 22% say that it causes serious fights between them.

Look up and make eye contact when your mom is talking to you. Don’t be a Mother Phubber.
