You've no doubt seen Christmas light displays set to music, but have you ever seen a town's police, fire, and public works departments get together to put on a light show set to music with their emergency lights?

The Stow, Massachusettes Police Department posted an amazing video on their Facebook page recently that I'm still trying to figure out how they were able to choreograph so perfectly.

It features three of Stow's police squad cars, two Stow fire trucks, and two Stow public works trucks all using their emergency lights choreographed to clips of three Christmas songs: "Christmas Eve / Sarajevo"  by Trans Siberian Orchestra, "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch," and "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee.

How they managed to pull this off perfectly had me baffled, but I may have an idea of how they made this amazing light show right to the beat.

So how do they do this? Spoiler alert below if you don't want to know the secret.

What happens here is rather than having the first responders and public works crews behind the wheel flip on their lights in time to the music, the camera is locked down so it doesn't move. Then, video is shot of each sequence of lights needed to piece the show together. Some with just the squad cars, some with just the fire trucks, some with just the public works trucks and whatever combination is needed for the songs.

Then the video editor takes all those pieces and edits them together with whatever length is needed for each beat to make the whole thing come together.

That said, it's still an amazing piece of work and totally puts us all in the holiday spirit.

TOP SPOTS IN MAINE WITH AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE

In Maine, it's not hard to find businesses, restaurants, and shops with great customer service. It could be we are that way because of the many tourists that visit us. Or it just might be our stubborn Yankee roots that we like to treat people the way we want to be treated.
