New England 6-Year-Old Raises $250K For Australian Wildfires By Doing Something Unique
Meet Owen Colley. He's got to be the coolest boy on the planet… Definitely the most compassionate since he is more interested in helping animals affected by the horrible wildfires in Australia than he is in doing normal things that kids his age do. Owen is from Hingham, Massachusetts, and he lived in Australia when he was a toddler, according to GMA. Owen, who is 6 and in kindergarden, makes little koalas out of clay.
His family decided to sell 100 of them, and give the money to an Australian-based wildlife charity, as per GMA. They probably didn't expect what happened next when a local newspaper did an article about his project. Sales hit the roof on Owen's GoFundMe page. He has raised more than $250,000. The money will benefit Wildlife Rescue South Coast Inc.
