Finally! We Know When the New Auburn Olive Garden Will Open
We've been anticipating this for a couple of years!
The Sun Journal included the moment that the Olive Garden on Turner Street not only was approved for its liquor license but the excitement from the City Council. They finally announced the date of opening on May 22. That's the official opening date, but if all goes well, it could be sooner.
This is too funny. You can literally hear the excitement in the council's vote! This has been a long time in the making. The date of May, 22 was emailed to the Sun Journal by Olive Garden's parent company Darden Restaurants, which also owns Longhorn Steakhouse.
Pawel Binczyk, an attorney with the law firm representing Olive Garden, is the one that gave the good news during the council meeting.
I know everybody’s been really excited to see this restaurant come to Auburn. There’s a big team working behind the scenes to make everything happen and try to get this restaurant open as soon as possible. Right now, we’re looking at the end of May, but things may move faster.
We've been anticipating this Olive Garden since we learned that Ruby Tuesday was closing and Olive Garden was moving in. And then there were rumors it wasn't and then there were delays and then - BAM! Unlimited breadsticks in just over a month!
I don't know what it is about those breadsticks that make them so darn tasty. But it's a good thing they are unlimited. So get ready Auburn, it's finally happening! No fooling, you are about to be family!
