This New Maine Comic Shop Will Hit You Right in the Childhood

Sitting pretty, tucked to the side of Route 202 in Greene is a universe you've been waiting for. Just steps from The Greene Village Bakery, is a new comic book shop.

Multiverse Comics and Games have opened their doors and it already feels like something very special for this community of good people. They celebreated with free comic day for everyone.

My wife, Nelly and I stopped in (okay, she led the charge because she's a total comic nerd) and from the second we walked in, you felt it, the warm welcome.

The shelves are packed with stories, from classic comics to collectibles, games and many hidden gems waiting for kids of all ages. Spots like this are not easy to find.

We got to speak with Eric and the mission behind creating this spot is simply, connection. This spot was designed to bring families together, offering everything from new releases to nostalgia to enjoy, together. Eric highlighted his want for each customer to unplug a little. His vision goes beyond retail. He is adding a kitchen and a play area to have game nights.

Remember the 90s? You'd hang out for hours in your favorite book shop, comic or record store and just connect.

The opening was pure joy. Deadpool and Batman showed up and each customer got a free goodie bag filled with treats and comics.

But the moment that I did not expect was when we were walking out and against the side wall near the doors were board games.

Not just any Walmart board game, the good old ones from childhood. Nelly gasped, “There it is” pointing to a game she’d been searching for her entire life.. The 1979 Parker Brother board game, MAD Magazine Game.  

So, yes, that's the little magic of Multiverse Comics and Games like this. Lets continue to support our local shop owners, especially the ones that want to bring you back to a place of simple, happiness.
