Margaritas Reaches Out to Market Basket Workers [PHOTOS]
As Market Basket workers continue to rally to have former CEO Arthur T. Demoulas reinstated, Margaritas Mexican Restaurants wants to give them some support.
The restaurant chain posted the following on its Facebook page Thursday:
As a locally owned company who is devoted to the strength and well-being of our communities, we want to offer our support to all the Market Basket employees who are affected by the current situation with their company. We know times for them are uncertain and getting harder each day. Therefore, beginning Friday, we are offering all Market Basket employees our own 50% off employee discount as a small gesture of our support until the situation is resolved.
Details: 50% off all food and non-alcoholic beverages only. Discount is not valid for alcohol or gift cards. Market Basket employees just need to show their badge to receive the discount. The discount can be applied for up to four family members in each party. Cannot be combined with any other offers. Margaritas reserves the right to end this discount at any time. Valid in New England only.
Market Basket employees have staged their rallies at supermarkets in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts for nearly two weeks, which is costing the company millions of dollars. Supermarket shelves are also empty at many stores. The supermarket employees were also given an ultimatum to return to work by Monday, Aug. 4 or company officials would begin filling their jobs.
