Maine’s Travis Mills to Appear With Wife Tonight on NBC’s ‘The Wall’
Travis Mills announced to the surprise of everyone yesterday that he and his wife Kelsey went out to California to be contestants on NBC's game show The Wall which will air Tuesday, May 16 on NBC.
Mills is a retired United States Army soldier who became a quadruple amputee while serving in Afghanistan. During his third tour, an IED exploded which caused the loss of both legs and both arms.
Since then he has gone on to become a motivational speaker and in 2013, he and his wife formed the Travis Mills Foundation where veterans injured in active duty and their families receive an all-inclusive, all-expenses paid, vacation in Mt. Vernon, Maine where they participate in adaptive activities, bond with other veteran families, and enjoy Maine’s outdoors.
The announcement that Travis and Kelly will be on The Wall, likely means that they are there to win money to help fund the Travis Mills Foundation which does such great work for our injured veterans.
If you've never seen The Wall, imagine Plinko on The Price is Right except it's forty feet tall. Couples play the game together by answering questions correctly to win the amount of money in one of the slots that a ball released from the top of the board lands in. Over three rounds, the maximum values increase from $25,000 to $50,000 with the final round having a slot worth $1,000,000.
The largest total ever won on The Wall was $1,749,907. Hopefully, Travis and Kelsey will come home to Maine with even more.
You can catch the wall tonight (May 16) at 9 p.m. on NBC or stream it the next day on Peacock.
