Maine Woman Offers One-of-a-Kind End-of-Life-Photography for Your Pets
Lauren Kennedy has brought something to attention in Central Maine that is beautiful and heartbreaking but also extremely important to so many of us.
Lauren created the Tilly Project, an end-of-life pet photography network and grief resources for families, and it has changed lives.
I spoke to Lauren and she expressed to me how and why she got into this uplifting and beautiful project to help families heal.
She told me that she wants to have the chance to capture the essence of the bond and love between pets and their families.
During a time when it is so devastating and heartbreaking, I believe these photos can help navigate grief while memorializing such important lives.
Lauren shared with me how she got into this line of business,
A friend asked me for a recommendation on where to get an urn. She was asking on behalf of her friend and their very young dog who had an aggressive and terminal cancer.
I have been doing photography since 2011 and it came to my mind to offer free photos for this family.
After the photo session, and with permission from the family, I shared these photos. My inbox became flooded with families in similar situations who wanted to capture those precious last
memories. It quickly became apparent how needed this service was.
After this, Lauren learned that there was a deep need in this niche and wanted to help as many families suffering from pet loss as she could.
She told me it quickly became apparent how needed this service was and she also learned how she wasn’t able to do all of it by herself and that is when she created the Tilly Project.
This service has been so helpful to so many people already.
If you are struggling with having to say goodbye to your beloved pet, visit The Tilly Project online and you can add your name on the list to have photos that will hopefully help heal.
Below is a collection of some of the photos that have been taken by the Tilly Project.
