Maine Woman Crashes Car She Intended To Buy Into Dealership
Anyone who has ever bought a car before should remember the sense of excitement they felt about owning and driving a new car. That's how the expression "new car smell" came to be. It can also be a stressful process. Imagine what this woman in Wiscasset, Maine must have been feeling when she crashed the car she was about to buy into the very dealership from which she was purchasing the vehicle. Our news partner WMTW is reporting that 92-year-old Gwendolyn Swank stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake, which hurled the vehicle into Norm's Used Cars on Route 1 in Wiscasset. The car reportedly crashed into the front office on Tuesday morning. Luckily, no one was injured. The car and building, however, are damaged to the tune of $30,000, as per WMTW.
