Maine & New Hampshire’s ‘Double Digit Snow Totals’ Will Ruin Your Weekend Plans
If you had any travel plans for this weekend, you better leave now… Winter Storm Harvey is at our doorstep just waiting to make a big ol' giant mess. Meteorologist Sarah Long from our news partner WMTW says to expect "double digit snow totals" and very strong winds (30-35 mph) during this major winter storm. She says most of us in Maine and New Hampshire will get 12 to 18 inches of snow. Northern Maine and the White Mountains in NH may see 18 to 24 inches or more. It will reportedly start falling tomorrow (Saturday) night between 6 and 10 p.m., and be heavy through Sunday. Sarah says snow should end around midnight. She also warns travelers of blowing and drifting snow and a chance of sleet along the coast.
Monday brings bone chilling temperatures. But, let's not think about that right now. We have to survive the weekend first.
Bottom line: The weekend has been canceled. That is unless your plans involve building a snowman. First thing tomorrow morning, head to the grocery store to get your milk, bread and Allen's Coffee Brandy. Then, batten down the hatches. Stay off the roads if possible, practice common sense, and be safe and warm!
