
Maine Will Shine on “Good Morning America” with Hearts of Pine
Our beautiful state of Maine will be taking the spotlight center stage as Good Morning America broadcasts like this Thursday December 11th, from Kennebunkport. Why? They will be highlighting Portland’s newest soccer team: the Hearts of Pine, according to Portland Press Herald.
Rhiannon Ally, ABC Anchor will report from Nonantum Resort as part of their show’s segment called, “50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful.”

This new soccer team has quickly built a very passionate fan base that’s bordering on full-blown cult love! It's amazing to see the support and pride that fans have for this new team.

Sold-Out Games, Cult Fans, and a National Spotlight
Get this: every home game for Hearts of Pine at Fitzpatrick Stadium has sold out, and season tickets are in such super high demand that some people are actually reselling them for five times the original price! This isn't just a group of fans, it's a community, a family.
So now that we know how proud we are of this soccer team, we can understand the need for national coverage.
According to Portland Press Herald, there supporters are so dedicated that the Dirigo Union Supporters Club which has around 600 members have formed this live band called the Valentine Band to hype up the energy at games with horns, drums, and even bagpipes!

Thursday GMA broadcast will have an additional 3 minute segment that will celebrate what makes Maine so special.
As per the article, filming will be closed to the public but you can watch on all ABC stations, including WMTW, WVII from 7am-9am.
