Chances are, you've heard the story of Jacob Thompson, a local boy who had terminal cancer. In his final weeks he requested an early Christmas, as his doctors were saying that he may not make it to December 25th.

His request went viral, and he soon received thousands upon thousands of Christmas cards and gifts.

Jacob also picked out the first Christmas song that we played this year on HOM, Trans Siberian Orchestra "Carol of the Bells."

Sadly, Jacob lost his battle with cancer on November 9th.

According to WCSH6, the toys Jacob received are now being distributed to other inpatient children, helping to spread holiday cheer.

It's one last act of kindness from Jacob and his family that really show their love, kindness, and generosity.
