Nearly 100-Year-Old Maine Diner Has No. 1 Best Whoopie Pie in New England
People from New England have many things to be proud of: a 19-year run with a Patriots dynasty, fluff, and whoopie pies.
Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire all claim to be where whoopie pies originated from; however, many believe it to be Pennsylvania...but there's no way that's true...right? (so just ignore that).
At any rate, New England has always claimed to be the birthplace of the delicacy that is a whoopie pie: a perfectly moist fluffy chocolate cake top with a sweet cream in between a second fluffy cake bottom.

But where in New England can you find the best of this New England sweet treat?
Apparently, it's at a cute, simple, classic diner that has been around for nearly 100 years, according to a Family Destinations Guide article.
I'm talking about Moody's Diner in Waldoboro, ME.
Moody's inside and out screams small-town, Maine charm.
Now without trying Moody's whoopie pies myself, I cannot give an "official" title declaration; however, based on the way they look, and the fact that the recipe has been passed down for over 90 years, they make a strong case for being #1.
