Some of the best times of the '80s and '90s were at roller rinks.  C'mon, admit it.

It was a time just before the explosion of rollerblades, and it was so cool if you knew how to roller skate with real, original skates with the bumper on the front to stop.

What's the rule?  You can say something is new for one year after opening? Well then, this is definitely new.

Since its opening at the end of 2023, Remix Skate & Event Center has been having fun with young and older clients.

In fact, it's the only commercial roller skating place in New Hampshire, offering event space for all types of parties.  Birthdays, bachelorettes, fundraisers, field trips and office gatherings are all fair game.

There's something about roller skating that puts a smile on every face out there on the rink, going around and around, laughing and hoping not to fall.

According to Facebook, the rink is 6100 square feet and can accommodate up to 110 people.

The best part is they don't play the same top 40 hits over and over. Remix has themed nights, like Latin Night, R&B Night, Rock Night, Disco Night, and you can always make a request.

Personally, I was delighted to see the one thing which makes it a true classic roller rink, a mirror ball. There's nothing like skating under the mirror ball with all the lights off and a million sparkles shining down on you.

It's $20 for 2 hours of skating, but they do have group rates.  Go to skateremix.com for more information.   What's nostalgic is new again!

If you are a more serious skater, try Granite State Roller Derby, or New England Roller Sports.
