Did you know that there is a New England Patriots player who not only starts on our beloved NFL team but simultaneously serves as a lieutenant in the Navy?

The legend who can balance both professions goes by the name of Joe Cardona.

According to the New England Patriots official website, Cardona went to the Naval Academy where he graduated as an LT before starting in the NFL.

Before officially starting his NFL career, Cardona was able to delay the start of his military career by one NFL season.

After that, however, he needed to begin his contracted service time.

And ever since that first season, he has been balancing both starting for the Patriots as a long-snapper AND serving his duties for the Navy Reserves.

According to Cardona's official Wiki Page, "Cardona spent his off days working a 24-hour shift as Command Duty Officer at the Naval Academy Preparatory School."

2024 was Cardona's first year leading the Parots as one of their captains for the season. Somehow, he can lead not only the team but also 500 sailers on the Eastern Seaboard.

According to Wiki, Cardona currently serves as department head of Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Eight, based at Naval Station Newport in Newport, Rhode Island.
