For New Englanders in search of winter activities less time-consuming than a trip to the slopes, horse-drawn sleigh rides are a perfectly enchanting alternative.

What better way to get in the holiday spirit than by living out the lyrics to "Jingle Bells"? As you dash through the snow and "o'er the fields" with your loved ones, you'll experience the winter magic that we all love during this special time of year.

Many places in New England offer horse-drawn sleigh rides during the winter months, including one farm right here on the Seacoast.

Starting today, you can book your own horse-drawn sleigh ride at Coppal House Farm in Lee, New Hampshire.

Here's some of what the farm had to say about their beloved sleigh rides:

Enjoy an old-fashioned sleigh or wagon ride with your friends and family at a working New England farm.  Glide down our groomed trails for a 30-minute adventure that takes you through our pine-lined woods and open fields.  Be sure to bring your camera to capture this outing that is sure to please all.

Both private and public sleigh rides are offered at Coppal House Farm. Private rides take place on various dates in November and December, and can accommodate groups of two to 12 people. Visitors will journey through the scenic fields and woods while "Farmer John engages you with tales of the farm," according to the Coppal House website. Alternatively, public rides are offered on a pop-up basis in January and February based on weather conditions. These sleigh rides will "bring you over the river and through the woods while you are serenaded by sleigh bells and soft hoof beats." To make things even better, the ride ends with a warm bonfire. How cozy is that? More information will be available here after New Year's.
