There's no hiding from the Google Year in Search. Every year, the search engine puts out a list of things that we search based on location.  In the Boston, Massachusetts area, these are the 5 slang words that were googled the most.

Definitions of the 5 Slang Words Boston, Massachusetts Googled in 2025

67

From what I know of this word is that it was started by rapper Skrilla and his song, "Doot Doot" where it mentions 6 7.  Dictionary.com is kinda of shadowy with their definition as well, so maybe that's why they chose it for their WORD OF THE YEAR.  Wait?  What?  EXACTLY!

PMO

This one is a bit easier to understand.  According to Reddit, PMO means "piss me off," so, someone might text to you, "Don't PMO," in which case you would either laugh or call the cops.

FOMO

FOMO is sooooo 2023.  This acronym means "Fear of Missing Out."  For example, if everyone in your family is going to some festive party that you don't have the invite to for whatever reason, you might have a bad case of FOMO.

ICL

Urban Dictionary defines this one as "I can't lie."  For example, "The guy didn't impress at all, icl."

SYFM

This one is very similar to STFU, which we all know.  Why did someone have to go and reinvent the wheel?  Because they had to, I guess.  SYFM means; Shut your F*&^% Mouth.  What's wrong with Shut the F^$%$ Up?  Same thing, right?

There you go, Boston.  Now the whole world knows what you thought you googled in private.  Hope you learned something.
