Did You Fall for This Hilarious Boston, Massachusetts, April Fools’ Joke?

Boston is an awesome place with so much going for it.

Whether you're visiting for the sports, entertainment, food, history, or general exploring, you'll never run out of things to do in the city.

Despite its perks, one element of Boston that leaves something to be desired is the public transportation. Sure, there are lots of ways to get in and around the area. You can always drive in (if you're brave enough), and the MBTA details numerous train, bus, and ferry routes. But more often than not, you tend to hear more complaints than praises about the system.

So that's why when @thebostoncal shared this post about a brand-new gondola system supposedly coming to Boston by 2030, this writer was all for it. In fact, she started to write an article about it (that's what happens when you can be gullible).

But after studying the post in more detail (and considering what day it was posted), it became all too clear that this was an April Fools' joke. Hats off to whoever wrote this, by the way. They get an A+ for the effort and commitment.

Because of the thought and detail that went into the post, some commenters revealed that they, too, almost fell for it. But those who had been jaded by the system knew better. Here's what some of them had to say:

This writer thinks that a gondola (a safe one, just to clarify) would be a welcome addition to the public transit landscape in the city. But then again, there are plenty of existing problems that need to be taken care of first. Perhaps it's nothing more than a pipe dream.
