North End Bistro on Elm Street in Manchester, New Hampshire Closes

Restaurants have big challenges in the best of times., but you add in a family emergency and it becomes almost impossible.  Such may be part of the case with the North End Bistro on Elm Street in Manchester.

The closing announcement was made on Facebook.

Andy and Becky, the owners, wanted to thank their loyal customers, of course.  They also mentioned their staff who most of which is "already taken care of."

The owners also mentioned a family emergency, coupled with the challenges of running a restaurant that made their decision so quick.

There is some interest in a new buyer.  They will make updates on their Facebook page and if there is any news about that.
The owners also mentioned they will also be able to spend more time as a family and watch their kids grow up.

According to the Union Leader, the North End Bistro took over the space formerly occupied by The Way We Cook at approximately June of 2019.  It was a nice place for local residents to grab dinner and socialize.

Real Estate Cost on Elm Street

They didn't put this in the announcement, however, I wonder if the cost of doing business in that space on Elm Street had anything to do with it.  There are many businesses that go in and out because the cost of doing business is so high.

Whatever the case may be, we wish Andy and Becky the best of luck!  Spending more time with family is never a bad thing.
