New Hampshire PoutineFest Coming to Anheuser-Busch in Merrimack
If you don't know what poutine is, you might not be French Canadian.
In New England, many people serve it to this day, although probably not every day, as they will put a pound or two on ya.
Some genius person got the idea to put a PoutineFest together on the grounds of Anheuser-Busch in Merrimack, New Hampshire, in October.
Here are the details:
- Where: Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Merrimack, New Hampshire
- When: October 12, 2024
- What Time: 11:30 am - 4:30 pm
Tickets are available here, and the cost runs from $14.99 for kids to the premier ticket for $74.99.
Holy moly, that's a lot of curd. It also includes a lot of swag from the event.
What is Poutine?
Poutine is made up of french fries topped with cheese curds and gravy. Yup, I know! The gravy melts the cheese curds and the whole thing is a taste sensation.
You can eat poutine with your hands because of the french fries, but I would suggest using a fork, so you have more real estate to capture the curds and gravy.
Your ticket to the event includes a healthy sample of poutine from several participating restaurants and food trucks. Believe me, a sample is going to be enough.
Their website says that there will be restaurants and food trucks from all over New England. Each one of them creates their own spin on poutine for attendees to try.
Poutine Competition
The participating trucks are competing for the "Best Poutine of the Fest," and the winner will receive a Championship Belt.
What's Poutine without Beer?
The website says there will be live music, kids activities and great beer. The event itself is at Anheuser-Busch, so that's a given.
By the way, although I'm mostly Irish, the other half is French/Canadian. People from Quebec and the correct pronunciation is "poo-TSIN."
Sounds like it could be a really fun day. One caution though, eat less a week before. You'll need the room in your stomach for this one and bring the TUMS.
