Amity, Maine, Triple Homicide Featured on New A&E Show
In June of 2010, New Englanders heard the shocking story of the triple homicide of two men and one 10-year-old boy, according to sunjournal.com. Maine detectives found 21-year-old Thayne Ormsby in a Dover, New Hampshire, apartment, who was then arrested and charged with three counts of murder and one count of arson, and returned to Maine after he waived extradition, according to caselaw.findlaw.com.
Interrogation Raw is a new show from A&E that took a deep look into this horrific triple homicide in Amity, Maine, by showing the interrogation process leading up to the arrest of 21-year-old Thayne Ormsby.
Horrific Maine Murder Tragedy
The sunjournal.com reported that Ormsby plead not guilty, and not guilty by reason of insanity in the stabbing deaths of Jeffrey Ryan, Ryan's son Jesse (who was 10 years old), and Jason Dehahn on June 22, 2010. The victims were found about 27 hours after the killings at the home on Route 1 in Amity.
Some have called this the worst murder case in the history of Maine.
Amity, Maine (actually anywhere in Maine), isn't the type of place that you would think anything like this would have happened. It is a horrific story. I have to say, I'm not usually intrigued by these kinds of shows, and there are so many of them (20/20, Dateline, 48 Hours, etc.), but I will watch this one because it takes place here in New England, where I live. I admit, I live in a bubble where I don't think anything violent will ever happen, but then I hear about things like this, and it makes me shudder.
