Silly's, a Portland, Maine Restaurant Will Re-Open in Standish

Formerly located at 68 Washington Avenue in Portland, Maine, Silly's Restaurant announced it's closure in 2019 after 31 years.

The owner said at the time, according to newscentermaine.com, that she didn't fit anymore with the "new hipster artisan Washington Avenue."

At that time, the owners *did* hint that they may open again if they found the right spot and they have in nearby Standish, Maine and I can't wait.

Silly's Had Something for Everyone

Truly, it didn't matter what you wanted to eat, Silly's had it. Meat eater, vegetarian, vegan, they had it all.

If you wanted dessert, there was no place in the entire state of Maine where you could get a better vegan chocolate cake. On top of all that, Silly's had a bar so you could order wine/beer and I think mixed drinks too, but don't quote me on that.

To say that I was sad when it announced it was closing was an understatement.

It was the place that I wanted to go for my birthday every year when I lived in Maine. I just loved everything about it.

At Silly's, you could be just that - Silly. They had games on the tables, so you hardly ever got bored while waiting for your food.

With the wine/beer option, you could also get a nice, warm, welcoming feeling without spending a crap-ton of money on all the fancy accessories that come with a good glass of wine.

Come as you are at Silly's

You could go to Silly's with whatever you were wearing at the time, get amazing food, a great glass of wine and an out of this world dessert. I'm talking the best cake I've ever put into my face and you don't even wanna know how much cake I've thrown in to my system. My thighs know, but I'm keeping it between us.

Silly's Restaurant is Re-Opening in Standish

I was like a kid who was just told that she's going to Disneyland for Christmas when I found out that Silly's is re-opening only 30 minutes West of Portland in Standish.
