Wildly Popular Maine-Based Hard Seltzer to Change Format
The wildly popular Wild Maine Seltzer, a product of Orono Brewing, was introduced to Mainers back in 2021 and quickly gained popularity as a locally crafted hard seltzer option in Maine and beyond.
If you're a hard seltzer fan and haven't enjoyed one of their refreshing vodka-based seltzers, you should treat yourself by enjoying one of their new 12 oz cans expected to be roll out by the end of February, being sold in 4 packs.
Yes, Wild Maine Seltzer is making waves yet again, as Orono Brewing recently announced a significant transition in their packaging by moving from the traditional 16 oz cans to sleeker and more convenient 12 oz cans.
This strategic move comes as a response to feedback from loyal fans and market research that shows a growing demand for more portable and portion-controlled options. With the increasing emphasis on health-conscious/responsible consumption choices and on-the-go lifestyles, they have discovered that consumers are seeking beverages that offer convenience without compromising on taste or quality.
As a fan of the Wild Maine's, it was never an issue for me to enjoy a 16 oz can, but in addition to the factors stated above, I think this is also a great option for people that may take more time to enjoy their beverage, especially in the summer. If you're a slow sipper and out on a boat or on the beach, larger cans will tend to get warmer and begin to lose their carbonation towards the end.
Although not confirmed, I would think that this transition could help to open the doors for a wider variety of flavor options at some point in time.
Speaking of variety, rumor has it that they will also soon be rolling out variety packs of their current flavors (blueberry, lemon, mango pineapple, and white cranberry), as done by malt hard seltzers like Truly and White Claw.
For those of you who are trying to limit the sugar intake, Wild Maine's have 0 grams and only 100 calories per can, with an ABV of 5%. Finally, for you seltzer drinkers that aren't into the overly sweet flavors, Wild Maine's are perfect.
