Memorial Day Weekend Forecast For Maine Looks Damp and Chilly
It feels like the entire month of May in Maine has been gray and gloomy. Despite plenty of April showers that were supposed to bring May flowers, there hasn't been quite enough sun shining to see a full bloom.
Mainers are always hopeful that Memorial Day weekend will be the unofficial kick off to summer in the state. Over the last few years, it has served as that with very solid conditions and temperatures.
This year? Better pack your umbrella and a few sweatshirts.
Maine is Currently Stuck in a Bad Weather Pattern That Shows No Signs of Breaking
Shared on social media by Ryan Breton, the month of May has seen Maine being stuck in one depressing weather pattern that seems to enjoy torturing the good citizens of New England.
Rather than enjoying a handful of days in the upper 70's, Maine has struggled to even come close to a number that begins with 7. Not consistently anyway.
Making matters worse, the conditions are ripe for rain. Even if that is sporadic showers.
The Weather Pattern is Forecasted to Stick Around Through Memorial Day Weekend in Maine
Long range weather models have begun to come together and suggest that what Maine has experienced throughout the month of May doesn't appear to be going anywhere for the holiday weekend.
The Memorial Day weekend forecast calls for mostly cloud cover, off and on rain showers and unseasonably cold temperatures. Highs throughout Memorial Day weekend could struggle to reach 60 degrees in some parts of the state.
The unofficial kickoff to summer may actually have to wait until summer.
