Here’s When Kids (and Pets) Can Take Photos With Santa at the Maine Mall in 2024

It's almost that time of the year again. Snow will begin flying, wish lists will come together, and Santa Claus himself will usher in the Christmas season at the very end of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

For generations, one of the traditions of the holiday in Maine is to have your photo taken with Santa Claus. Many children gleefully sit on Santa's lap, tell him what they want for Christmas, then pose for a photo that stands the test of time.

Santa Claus will return to the Maine Mall in South Portland before Thanksgiving this year for an extended run that will give kids (and pets) a chance to snap that timeless photo with jolly ol' Saint Nick before the big day arrives.

When Can Kids Get Their Photos Taken with Santa?

Photos with Santa at the Maine Mall begin on Thursday, November 21, and run every day through Sunday, December 24 at 5pm. The big guy will have to take flight after that.

Do You Need a Reservation To Meet Santa?

Reservations are strongly suggested, as many kids will likely want to spend a few minutes with Santa. You can make a reservation for a specific date and time by following this portal. However, walkups will be welcomed once again this year.

Can I Bring My Pet for a Santa Photo?

Because of the popularity of pet photos with Santa last year, The Maine Mall is going to offer multiple nights and chances to get their favorite furry friend a few months with Santa.

Pet nights with Santa start on Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26. They will continue on Monday, December 2 and Tuesday, December 3 as well as Monday, December 9 and Tuesday, December 10.  Photos will begin at 4pm and reservations are strongly suggested.
