One of the Best Trails in the Country Can be Found in Maine’s Acadia National Park
A popular travel site recently showered plenty of praise towards one of Maine's most cherished spots, Acadia National Park.
The Pine Tree State's golden child was recently cited for one of its amazing mountain hikes by the site loveEXPLORING. Acadia's North Ridge Trail got the nod for being Maine's best hiking trail.
It's no surprise to see the high ranking for this iconic hike. Located on the famed Cadillac Mountain, the North Ridge Trail does not disappoint. Not only is it beautiful, it's also unique. It has numerous features, with a panoramic landscape that is true Maine perfection.
Don't just take my word for it. Here's a little from loveEXPLORING on why the Cadillac North Ridge Trail is Maine's best.
The pink granite mountain slopes are clad with pine and spruce forests with the scenic Cadillac North Ridge Trail stretching for two beautiful miles uphill. The hike isn't too strenuous even though it is uphill but expect some tricky granite stairs. On the way back, hikers can also enjoy views of the ocean and Bar Harbor.
Talk about an epic Maine hike. The payoff for this climb has to be one of the best in the entire country. Perfect coastal views are awaiting those who conquer this popular Acadia trail.
The reference site alltrails.com lists the Cadillac North Ridge Trail's difficulty as "hard." However, even with its challenging reputation, the trail has a rating of 4.7 out of 5. The trail is open all year, and dogs are allowed. It also has a good reputation for bird watching.
What a great choice from loveEXPLORING, although it couldn't have been easy. This state is loaded with picturesque hikes. We are incredibly lucky.
Happy hiking.
