A coastal Southern Maine town is being hailed as a "can't miss" for tourists.

The pop culture site A lot recently published a list of the most charming small towns in every state. The site selected a town from Maine that receives plenty of love already from locals and those from away. The name of that town is Kennebunkport.

This likely isn't surprising news. However, it shouldn't take away the honor. Kennebunkport is a lovely seaside town. The village is a perfect size, easily walkable, and flooded with views.

There are many small restaurants and shops that surround the famous Dock Square. It's a great representation of Maine's small business community. The square opens right up to the coast where folks can enjoy incredible ocean strolls. Not a bad spot to walk off that lobster you probably just ate.

Kennebunkport is also known for being one of the best towns for Christmas. The town's famed Prelude celebration is hailed nationally for its tradition and flare. This festival and others help keep Kennebunkport in the spotlight all year long.

But enough from me. Here is why Alot.com decided Kennebunk is Maine's most charming town.

The beaches are relaxing, but the Dock Square is where it’s it. This area has tons of souvenir shops that are one-of-a-kind and the seafood? Words can’t even describe how good it tastes.

Fresh seafood, local shops, and beautiful scenery are a pretty good recipe for a charming town. It's no wonder Kennebunkport was chosen. The town fits the definition rather well.
