Some things are meant to stay the same, and others are not. If developers have their way, the skyline and the experience of Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, will look a lot different in the coming years.

According to Seacoastonline, the owners of the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom are looking for a way to revitalize and stabilize one of the keystones for entertainment in the bustling tourist town. They want to do that with a three-year redevelopment that will make significant changes.

A key change for concertgoers would be a massive expansion to the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom concert hall. Currently, the concert hall holds about 2,200 people at capacity. The redevelopment would nearly double the concert hall's size, allowing an array of new acts to visit the venue.

The redevelopment would also include a new 500-room hotel with an adjacent parking garage. The hotel would help meet the demand of both concertgoers and summertime enthusiasts. But it could also allow Hampton Beach to host corporate functions and conventions during the offseason.

If the project is approved, it will mean the elimination of things people have become accustomed to. The surface parking lot near the Casino Ballroom concert hall would be removed. Addtiionally, D street would be wiped out.

The first phase of the project would be to expand and enhance the concert hall. That would drive revenue to complete the remainder of the project. Beyond the hotel and parking garage, both retail and restaurant spaces facing the beachfront are part of the plan, with the hopes the casino ballroom complex becoming a year-round destination.
