
The Old Bugaboo Creek Location in South Portland, Maine, is Vacant Again
It's probably hard to believe that it has been nearly a decade since Bugaboo Creek restaurant closed their doors permanently in South Portland.
The chain restaurant had been a favorite for so many, who celebrated birthdays or a night out surrounded by some fake animal friends they'd made over the years.
Adding insult to injury, the actual building that housed Bugaboo Creek in South Portland caught fire in 2017 due to an electrical problem.
Eventually it was torn down to make way for something new. But that didn't last either.
CSL Plasma in South Portland, Maine, Has Permanently Closed
One of the leading plasma collection companies in the world, CSL Plasma, saw an opportunity years ago to move into the Portland, Maine, market.
The Florida-based company operates nearly 300 plasma collection centers across the globe, including a pair in Maine.
But if you've driven near the Maine Mall area in recent days, you've noticed a big change. The very recognizable CSL Plasma sign has been taken down and the company no longer lists South Portland as a location it operates in.
CSL Plasma Still Will Operate in Maine
No reason was given on social media behind the CSL Plasma location in South Portland closing. The company does continue to list Brewer, Maine, as a location that is operational however.
With CSL Plasma departing in South Portland, it will be interesting to see what fills the vacancy at 264 Gorham Road near the Maine Mall.
The location remains a prime piece of real estate and anything from another medical facility to a new chain restaurant could move there.
