What a run it's been for the Biddeford, Maine, culinary world. From James Beard-nominated chefs to incredible write-ups in Food & Wine Magazine and others, it truly has been an upward trajectory for the up-and-coming small city. Heck, Biddeford was even featured on Netflix. And now, it can claim to be the home to Maine's best breakfast joint, at least according to one website.

The popular culinary experts over at LoveFood put out an article of every state's best breakfast joint. It's a murder's row of delicious diners, cafes, and iconic joints. The selection for Maine definitely falls into a few of those categories. Oh, and it's also delicious. Maine's representative is the Palace Diner.

Of course it's the Palace Diner. I mean, who doesn't love upscale brunch food being served out of a 100+ year old dining car? It's basically everything that is awesome about the American culinary scene.

The Palace Diner is run by Greg Mitchell and Chad Conley. The two took over the diner car in 2014, and have received praise for their creative takes on diner classics. The dining car itself is an absolute knockout. There's more character in that little restaurant than entire cities. It's a very unique dining experience.

Diners can enjoy incredible takes on breakfast sandwiches, French toast, pancakes, omelets, corned beef hash, even banana bread. For the brunch crowd, there's more classic takes, like a tuna melt and one of the best diner burgers in the entire land. If there's one thing I know, you will not leave hungry.

Here is a little more on why LoveFood selected the Palace Diner as Maine's best breakfast joint.

The all-day breakfast menu ranges from buttermilk flapjacks, French toast (pictured) and several plates featuring the exceptional crispy potatoes. Really hungry? Stuff yourself silly with the lumberjack breakfast – flapjacks, two eggs, potatoes, and breakfast meat.

I'd like to think I could take down that lumberjack breakfast. I'm certainly willing to try.

Ready to try Maine's best breakfast? Just be aware the lunch counter is small, so there could be a bit of a wait to sit down. However, Palace Diner is close to many coffee joints, bakeries, and other eclectic shops to help you pass the time while you wait. And it is well worth the wait. I can personally guarantee you that. But if you truly don't have the time, don't worry. The Palace Diner also offers takeout. You can find out more info on their site.

Congratulations to this great little diner for its latest accolade. It's always great to see national recognition for the state's small businesses, especially the ones that truly deserve it. The Palace Diner is certainly one of those.
