The Best Steakhouse Chain in America Isn’t in Maine Yet
Over the last decade plus, several parts of Maine have become a culinary destination for foodies. People have traveled to Vacationland specifically to try out many of the restaurants that have been featured in the spotlight.
But almost none of those famed restaurants are steakhouses. Instead, Maine has relied on steakhouse chains to serve the needs of those who love a good plate of steak and mashed potatoes.
Over the years, many steakhouse chains have come and gone. From York Steakhouse to the famed Bonanza chain to a short and unsuccessful run for Outback Steakhouse. Not every chain has been a hit in Maine.
Some have found their footing, though. Texas Roadhouse as well as Longhorn Steakhouse continue to be two of the most popular chain restaurants in all of Maine. They're also two of the most popular steakhouse chains in America. But neither are THE most popular.
According to Tasting Table, Maine does not have a single location of the most popular steakhouse chain in America. That would be the Capital Grille, an intentionally high-end steakhouse chain that operates 75 restaurants across the country.
At Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn, those restaurants offer pretty straightforward steak dishes with minimal flare. At Capital Grille, many of the dishes offer increased elegance as exhibited here by their menu. It includes an entire section of "chef recommended" options.
While Capital Grille hasn't arrived in Maine yet, they do operate four restaurants relatively close by. Capital Grille has four locations in Massachusetts with an eye on expansion throughout the northeast possible.
