A popular travel site recently showered plenty of praise towards one of Maine's most cherished spots, Acadia National Park.

A recent post from the iconic pop culture site Food Drink Life did just that. The site posted an article about the 23 destinations in America that are "pure magic." To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Maine's Acadia National Park made the list.

What can be said about Acadia that hasn't already? The picturesque national park is loaded with beautiful views, amazing trails, pristine ponds, and extremely in-demand campgrounds.

It's a stunningly perfect spot, loaded with activities that are ideal for any time of year. Acadia has sightseeing, birding, horseback riding, kayaking, and some of the best mountain hiking around.

The true cherry on top has to be the views. Acadia has some of the best you will find. Rocky shorelines, secret ponds, incredible mountaintop scenes, and gorgeous lakes await, and you can take plenty of pictures of them.

Here's is what Food Drink Life had to say about why it selected Acadia as one of America "pure magical" spots.

Set up camp amidst towering pines and beside picturesque lakes offering tranquil reflections of the surrounding mountains. Hike trails that lead to rocky coastlines and hidden coves bathed in Atlantic surf. Experience starlit nights perfect for stargazing and campfire tales.

If that writeup doesn't perfectly encapsulate what Acadia has to offer than I don't know what does.

One major aspect the site brings up is the camping in Acadia. Yes, there are a few campgrounds in the actual park. But did you notice I said "few?" This means the demand is very high, so reservations tend to go fast. You can get more info about booking a site here. And yes, it is absolutely pure magic to stay in the actual park.

Let's be honest, it's really no surprise to see an Acadia make this list. The park has a special level of uniqueness that just screams Maine. It's the only true northeastern spot that has all of the region's best aspects, including mountains that literally touch the sea.  I'm glad to see those "from away" agree as well. It's truly pure magic.

Acadia was not the only Maine location to make this exclusive list. Portland also got a shoutout for being one of the most magical places in America. That's quite impressive for such a small state to have two locations on a list of just 23 spots. It's almost like Maine is better than most. Imagine that.
