This is pretty awesome.

One of Maine's most awesome meteorologists, Charlie Lopresti, has a hidden talent that goes beyond delivering the news like a gazelle.

He also knows how to harvest 2,000-pound pumpkins and win prizes at the Cumberland County Fair!

Check this out:

Charlie's over 2,000-pound gourd won "Biggest Pumpkin" at the Cumberland Fair this past Sunday.

First of all, this is just badass. When was the last time you saw a pumpkin this big?

I was lucky enough to get a few minutes of Charlie's time where he told me that successfully growing this type of pumpkin takes a wild amount of attention and work.

"A pumpkin can grow 20-60 pounds in one day" Charlie said.

According to howstuffworks, it takes around 120 days for one to reach this size and you really have to pay all of your attention to it.

I also asked him what happens after the contest is over, and he told me he donates his impressive pumpkin to a local business. It will then end up in Daramiscotta, Maine, to be hallowed out into a boat and this is my plea to be invited to this wild event this year.

What a trip, I love it.

Great work Charlie!
