It Looks Like Maine Could Be Getting Its First Jimmy John’s Restaurant
It's pretty exciting when a popular restaurant or business that seems to be everywhere else finally makes its way to Maine.
I remember when news about the first Chick-fil-A coming to Bangor in 2016 was a shocking yet pleasant surprise. The lines on that first day were insanely long, too.
Well, it looks like Bangor could be getting another "first" with what appears to be Maine's first Jimmy John's.
Jimmy John's Job Listings Point to a Bangor, Maine, Location
As of November 6, 2026, there are no Jimmy John's restaurants open in Maine.
Yet, there are some clues out there that point to the very first one in the state coming to Bangor.
On both the job website Indeed and the official Jimmy John's career web page, there are hiring listings for crew members and shift managers in Bangor.
The Jimmy John's page narrows down the location even further to Bangor Mall Boulevard. Exciting!
A Second Restaurant Is Planned Alongside a New Arby's in Bangor, Maine
Back in March 2026, WABI reported that a brand-new Bangor Arby's would be taking over the location where a previous Arby's once was: 57 Bangor Mall Boulevard.
That original Bangor Arby's closed after 32 years in 2015 when its owner chose to retire, according to the Bangor Daily News. Kind of neat to have a revival of a fast-food spot that used to be there, right?

But apparently that's not the only business expected to move into the building.
WABI also revealed that Arby's would only take up half the space at the Bangor Mall Boulevard spot, "with another unknown business slated to take over the other half."
Could Jimmy John's Be Sharing a Location With Arby's in Bangor, Maine?
It certainly appears that Jimmy John's might just be that mystery business moving into 57 Bangor Mall Boulevard with Arby's.
The dots seem to line up.
Additionally, several people have said on the Bangor subreddit that they've driven by the location recently and have seen an Arby's and Jimmy John's sign on the building.
I've emailed Inspire Brands, which owns both Arby's and Jimmy John's, for confirmation but haven't heard an official word back yet.

Are you excited for a Jimmy John's to come to Maine? The closest one to the state, or even New Hampshire, is in Massachusetts.
I've never had it but certainly interested to check out the popular chain spot. Guess I'll have to pick between the sandwiches and wraps.
And with Bangor seemingly being the place for new "first" national restaurants in the state, fingers crossed a Sonic is next? Maybe? At the very least, just one somewhere in the state?
Anyway, hopefully we'll get more opening timeline details for 57 Bangor Mall Boulevard soon!
