Chunky Dunky Ice Cream Boat in Naples, Maine, is Awesome
I got my ice cream fix when a boat came to me on the beach in Naples, Maine.
I was staying with friends at a camp on Brandy Pond when I saw an ice cream boat on the other side of the pond. I kept thinking about when that boat would come to this side of the pond. Then, as I sat on the dock truly vacationing, there they were!
After I flagged them down like a crazy person, the music started! I was so happy, and got a king-sized Good Humor cone just like you would off a truck. But I got mine off the Chunky Dunky Ice Cream Boat. I asked the man and woman (she handled customer relations and he drove the boat) if they were married. She said yes, and I was surprised they both seemed so happy together AND working all day together. That's when she said,
Oh, this is not our first time working together. Head to the website.

On the website for Chunky Dunky, a couple of things are explained. First, the fact that it's called Chunky Dunky comes from a family term of endearment, "chunky dunk" (plus the fact that they no longer "skinny dip").
And I also learned that Barb and Richie have been working together for a long time. On their website, it's explained how these two can be with each other every minute of the day...
We've been married over 40 years and together since high school. After selling our laundromat business of 20 years, we knew we wanted to do something we loved. Our love of boating and a care free lifestyle, led us to spending our summers out on the water in Naples, ME.
We're living the dream!
I love these two, and I love getting ice cream delivered to me while on vacation in Naples, Maine. As they say, all you gotta do is flag them down.
