Do’s and Don’ts of Watching the Taylor Swift Concert Movie in Maine
CNN broke down what is expected when you watch a concert movie. There are some big ones. Obviously, the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie is HUGE right now. But coming out also is Beyonce's Renaissance tour film. It's also the 40th anniversary of the best concert film ever, Stop Making Sense, with the Talking Heads.
I remember watching Stop Making Sense back in the day and wondering, "can I dance?" Concert films break all the rules of movie theaters. So, here's a breakdown of the do's and don'ts of when you see Taylor's movie, Beyonce's, or even the classic, Stop Making Sense.
DO: Sing and Dance!
I know it's a movie, but AMC Theaters that released the movie says, go for it! Plus, Taylor Swift wants you to enjoy yourself like you ARE at a concert! She told her millions of fans on her Instagram that singing and dancing are encouraged!
DON’T: Steal the Show
Of course, you're gonna sing your heart out. It's even expected, but don't be rude about it. Don't block other people and don't dance on the reclining chairs. As long as everyone can have fun, go for it! It's a lot of common sense. Don't do things you hate at actual concerts or at a movie. Shaking someone's seat is going to trigger serious rage (or is that just me?).
DO: Dress the Part
Of course! It's like going to a concert that you could never get tickets to (although you tried like crazy!). Beyonce fans (the Beyhive) wear the sparkliest things they own, and Swifties load up their Eras-themed jewelry and get ready to trade. AMC Theaters encouraged friendship bracelets!
DON’T: Get There Late
Everything about these concert films should be treated like it's an actual concert. The only difference in the experience is that it cost you a ton less! So, you are encouraged to show up early. Take pictures of yourself with other fans or with giant posters. Oh, and Swifties, trade those bracelets!
*PRO TIP: Use the bathroom. Like live shows, the Eras and Renaissance movies are close to three hours long.
